Farias Surf & Sport is a Long Beach Island (New Jersey) institution. It started in 1969, when Vince and Michele Farias rented a garage in Surf City and opened Farias Sales & Rentals, a beach equipment rental business. It has stayed in the family and added apparel in the 1980s.
The Ship Bottom store presents itself as the largest selection of surf craft in the area: shortboards, mid-lengths, longboards and stand up paddleboards, plus wetsuits, waterproof watches, bikes and beach gear. More shops are spread across the island: Surf City, Beach Haven, a kids store in Ship Bottom and Farias on Centre in Beach Haven.
The company also runs surf lessons and stand up paddle tours in Ship Bottom, Beach Haven, Surf City and Barnegat Light. Lead instructor Jon has over twenty years of surfing and more than ten years of teaching experience. Boards and wetsuits are included in surf lessons.
