The Board Source

The Board Source is a new and used surfboard store in Carlsbad, set in a 5,000-square-foot warehouse. It was founded by Jon Faure, a Leucadia native who started around 2014 by patching up and reselling used boards out of his parents' garage.

The stock constantly rotates, with more than 600 new and used boards: shortboards, mid-lengths, longboards, fish, funboards, soft boards, twinzers, gliders and single fins. Brands include Channel Islands, Firewire, JS Industries, Lost, Pyzel, Rusty, Maurice Cole and Takayama.

The idea is buy, sell, trade. The shop buys used boards and pays on the spot, with no consignment. It also sells fins, leashes, traction pads and wax, offers ding repair, and ships across the US, including Hawaii.
