Innerlight Surf & Skate Gulf Breeze

Innerlight Surf & Skate is a long-standing Gulf Coast surf shop: founder Yancy Spencer opened the store in 1969 in a modest 400 sq ft cinder block building, renamed Innerlight in 1972. Still family-run, the company now has three stores between Pensacola and Destin; the Gulf Breeze store, on Gulf Breeze Parkway, is where rental boards are picked up.

The shop sells surfboards (for example Cronin), skateboards, apparel and accessories. The company also offers one-hour surf lessons at Pensacola Beach (Lot 7, Walkover 27A), for ages 7 and up who are good swimmers (from age 6 for private lessons), surf camps, one-day camps and surf parties, and holds an annual surf contest in memory of Yancy Spencer III.
