Surfparadies

Surfparadies is a board sports shop with its own repair workshop in Pratteln, near Basel (canton of Basel-Landschaft), in business since 1984 according to its website. It recently moved to Baslerstrasse 83, a yellow building along the number 14 tram line between the Kästeli and Gempenstrasse stops; the entrance is at the back, at the third gate, and cars should use the paved lane on the west side. The shop describes itself as the largest kite shop in the Basel area.

It stocks kitesurfing gear (kites, boards, bars, foils, harnesses), wing foiling gear (wings, boards, foils and parts), windsurfing gear (boards, sails, masts, booms), parawings, pump foils, SUPs, surfboards, wake and kayak equipment, wetsuits, and snowkites (Ozone, HQ, Gin). Brands mentioned include Core, Duotone, Naish, Slingshot, Cabrinha, North, Sailloft, Sunova, NeilPryde, JP Australia and Prolimit. The online shop shows only part of the stock; advice is best given by appointment. The shop also rents out SUPs and windsurf gear and services skis and snowboards in winter.

The workshop repairs kites (canopy tears, seams, bladders, valves), windsurf sails (monofilm, sailcloth, seams, reinforcements), inflatable and rigid SUPs, and surf, wing, foil and windsurf boards; gear can be dropped off or sent in. Surfparadies also organises kite, wing foil and windsurf trips and camps in around fifty destinations, where lessons are given by instructors from partner centres rather than in Pratteln.
