Marchica Lagoon Resort

Marchica Lagoon Resort is a five-star hotel set on the Atalayoun headland, the spit of land reaching into the Marchica lagoon, about thirty minutes from Nador El Aroui airport. It is one of the very few places on Morocco's Mediterranean coast where a board sport is taught at all: the lagoon's enclosed, shallow water doubles as the playground for an electric watersports base.

The flagship activity is the eFoil, which the hotel describes as open to beginners and experienced riders alike and supervised by certified coaches. Also on offer are the Hydroflyer, the eTow (a floating electric winch that tows the rider), the Imat Jet electric water scooter, the Red Shark waterbike and kayaks. Waterbike sessions are run by Efoil Maroc, named as the resort's official partner. Sessions are booked individually through the website. No kitesurfing, wing, windsurfing or surfing is offered.

In May 2026 the hotel hosted the Marchica E-Foil Trophy, a round of the world circuit and the first e-foil world cup ever held in Africa. Around the watersports base, the resort offers 48 sqm rooms with terraces, a spa with indoor pool, hammams and sauna, two tennis courts, a golf academy, four bars, two restaurants, a kids club and an airport shuttle.

Watersports sessions are booked online, in time slots running from 9:00 to 23:00.
