Belle Ile Surf Club

Belle Ile Surf Club (BISC) is a surf club and school on Belle-Île-en-Mer. The SurfClub association dates from 2012 and the surf school opened in April 2013, set up by a surf enthusiast. It operates all year round.

The school is run by Amaury Burel, a state-certified instructor. It teaches surfing, bodyboarding, bodysurfing and stand up paddle, with a focus on safety for first waves, for all ages and levels. Equipment (recent wetsuits and boards) is included in the lessons.

Lessons take place at Donnant beach, on the Sauzon side; the administrative office is in Le Palais. Outside school holidays, the SurfClub supports its licensed members year-round, with competitions, sporting events and surf trips. Booking is advised during holidays.
