ESCF – École de surf du Cap Ferret

ESCF, the Cap Ferret surf school, has been registered with the French Ministry of Youth and Sports since 2005. It is based at La Garonne beach on the Cap Ferret peninsula (Lège-Cap-Ferret), with a meeting point at the Nicobeach surf shop, 20 route de Bordeaux in Petit Piquey.

Lessons are organised by age and level, from beginner to advanced, with a maximum of eight students per instructor. The offer includes a discovery session, surf courses, the Mini Surfer course for under-10s, private lessons, a Club formula for regular practice on weekends and public holidays outside the summer season, and full-board surf camps. Teaching links practice and theory (waves, sandbanks, currents) and uses video feedback for improvement.

Instructors hold the French state diploma (BE) and the BNSSA lifesaving certificate. Equipment is lent in all formulas; the school is a partner of the Surfrider Foundation and runs a shop (clothing, sunscreen, accessories). Time slots are set according to the tides.
