School Presentation
Sandy Feet Kitesurfing is a kitesurfing school based in Kabira on Ishigaki Island, in the Okinawa archipelago. It welcomes holidaymakers of all ages from 8 years old (children who are too light cannot take lessons) and offers lessons and gear rental.
Two IKO-certified instructors, Jetto and Hika, coach the students. Jetto has been travelling the world with his kite for seven years; Hika discovered the sport in South America and has taught in Australia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Korea. Lessons run from the first steps (setup, safety, kite control, getting on the board) to more advanced levels.
The website presents the island's spots: Yoshihara, Akaishi and Sakieda beaches, plus a possible trip to Taketomi Island. The wind season runs from October to June, averaging 15 to 25 knots, with flat-water lagoons depending on the tide and waves on the outside.
