Surf Holic Songjeong

Surf Holic is a surf school set in the middle of Songjeong Beach, in Haeundae district, Busan. It is the main base of a brand that also runs schools in Dadaepo, Pohang, Gangneung, Ulsan, Yangyang and Jeju.

Lessons follow five progressive two-hour sessions, from a first taste (theory, safety, paddling, standing up) to catching waves independently and reading the surf. Each lesson is followed by unlimited free surfing, unless the waves are judged too dangerous. The school also offers kids' classes, improver lessons, a winter programme for progressing in the cold season, and packages combining surfing and a stay.

Rental gear includes boards in every size from 6'0 to 10'0 and, in winter, 5 mm wetsuits with gloves, boots and hoods. The base, ten seconds from the beach, has changing rooms, showers, a waiting area and a large public car park. A cafe and a shellfish restaurant are upstairs.
