Jeju Kite Lab

Jeju Kite Lab is a kitesurfing, wing foiling and eFoil school on Jeju Island, South Korea. It is run by Max Yoon and his wife, who left Seoul to move to the island. They started out teaching from a van, then opened a shop and a guesthouse on Sinyang Beach, their favourite beach, on the east side of the island.

Kitesurfing lessons are given by an IKO-certified instructor, one-to-one or in small private groups, in English or Korean. The beginner course lasts four days and comes with an IKO certificate. Riders who are already independent can book coaching by the hour. Wing foil lessons last two hours, on whichever beach suits the wind and tide that day. eFoiling is available by the hour, on boards charged by solar panels.

The school rents kite and wing foil gear (Slingshot One Lock foil system), surfboards and skimboards, with wetsuits and safety equipment. Rentals are limited to riders who can handle the gear safely. A workshop repairs kites, wings, twin-tip, surf and foil boards, harnesses and accessories.

Jeju Kite Lab also develops kite and wing prototypes, including ram-air kites for beginners. The guesthouse on Sinyang Beach lets you stay close to the spots, most of which are on the east coast of the island.
