School Presentation
Eco Surf School is an ecological surf school based in Antofagasta, in northern Chile, with more than 12 years of history. It was founded by Óscar Latorre Ansaldi, a local surfer with over 30 years in the sport.
It welcomes children (from age 5), teenagers, adults and families. Each lesson starts with a warm-up and 30 minutes of theory, followed by about 1.5 hours in the water. Full equipment (wetsuit, rash guard and board) is included; transport is not. Students must be able to float.
During lessons, instructors also teach about the local coastal wildlife and how to protect it. The school also offers a surf camp at Chorales, about 40 minutes from the city between the sea and the hills, built around a left-hand wave suited to both beginners and advanced surfers.
