Galapagos Surf Discovery

Galapagos Surf Discovery is a licensed travel agency and tour operator based in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, on San Cristóbal Island in the Galápagos. Its founder, Humberto Fabián Shigua, known as "Billabong", has surfed on the island since the mid-1990s and started the company after some twenty years working in tourism, on land and at sea.

On the water, the team runs private surf lessons with a maximum of two students per instructor. A lesson lasts two hours on the sandy beach of Puerto Chino, 24 km from town (about 30 minutes by car, then a 15-minute walk); later lessons may take place at Playa Carola or Tongo Reef depending on conditions. The instructor speaks English and Spanish, and the price includes transport, a surfboard and a wetsuit. It also organises guided surf outings and stand up paddle tours.

The agency rounds out its offer with kayak, bike and car excursions in the island highlands, custom island-hopping itineraries, and an online shop for clothing and accessories. The office is in a grey shipping container behind the Plaza Comercial Surf Discovery.
