Pappy's Surf School is a surf school in Arugam Bay on Sri Lanka's east coast, led by Mr Pappy, who has coached surfers of all levels in the bay for years. The school advertises ISA-certified local instructors and picks the spot each day according to tide, wind, swell and the students' level: Peanut Farm Point for beginners, Elephant Rock for intermediates and Pottuvil Point for advanced surfers.
Lessons are private or in groups of two to five, with one or two instructors. Board, rash guard, water, a pre-surf banana and tuk-tuk transport to the spot are included. The school also offers an intermediate upgrade session with video analysis, and safaris.
