Tula Sörf

Tula Sörf is a surf school in Şile, on the Black Sea coast about an hour from Istanbul. It teaches wave surfing from scratch, with lifeguard-certified instructors, from the Marin Beach Hotel (Çavuş).

Each lesson starts with theory on land (safety, equipment, reading the sea and the waves) and carries on with practice on land and in the water alongside the instructor. Lessons run according to wave conditions, at the best spot of the day in Şile. The school offers private lesson packages of 2 or 4 hours, weekly group lessons, sessions for private groups and companies, and an intermediate level for surfers who can already reach the line-up. Being able to swim is enough, and equipment is included in the group lesson fee.

Tula also designs custom surfboards in its workshop and sells accessories such as fins and board bags. It runs surf camps with accommodation, a membership surf club and, in 2022, launched the Black Sea Surf Festival at Uzunkum along with a free surf academy for under-18s.

Weekly group lessons: Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 to 13:00, at the best spot of the day in Şile. Other lessons are scheduled around the waves; please book the day before.
