Mainbreak Water Sports is a kitesurfing and wing foiling school with a shop, based in Margaret River, Western Australia. It opened in 2002 as Margaret River Kitesurfing & Windsurfing, founded by an IKO-trained instructor and former Australian windsurfing runner-up.
Kitesurfing lessons are affiliated with Kiteboarding Australia and follow IKO standards. They take place at shallow-water spots, with shire approval and insurance, in groups of two students at most, using intercom helmets for real-time coaching. Three programmes follow one another: discovery, intermediate and independent. The school also offers wing foil lessons, stand up paddle hire and gift vouchers.
The shop sells foil gear (wings, foils, boards), kitesurfing, windsurfing and paddle equipment, new and second-hand, with brands such as Armstrong and PPC, and ships across Australia.
