Escuela Ombú

Escuela Ombú is a kitesurf, windsurf, wing foil and stand up paddle school on the banks of the Río de la Plata in Acassuso (San Isidro), about twenty minutes from central Buenos Aires. It states more than fifteen years of teaching on this stretch of water.

Lessons start from scratch with all equipment provided (kite or wing, board, harness, vest, helmet and wetsuit as needed). The website quotes roughly 8 to 10 hours to become independent in kitesurfing and windsurfing and 6 to 8 hours in wing foiling, with a support boat for safety; the minimum age is 16 for kitesurf and wing foil. Paddle is taught in private or group lessons, including guided sunrise or sunset outings.

The school also rents paddle boards, windsurf boards and single or double kayaks. It has changing rooms with hot showers and a live river camera so you can pick your session according to conditions. The team includes kitesurf, wing foil, windsurf and paddle instructors.
