School Presentation
Kitesurf Gualliguaica is a kitesurfing school based in Gualliguaica, on the shore of the Puclaro reservoir in the Elqui Valley (Coquimbo region). It describes itself as the only official IKO centre in the region and teaches on freshwater where a thermal wind picks up in the early afternoon from September to mid-April.
Technical direction is in the hands of Maximiliano Jenschke ("Macs"), an IKO Level 3 instructor and Level 1 freeride coach with children and health-conditions specialities. Lessons are one-to-one with two-way radio for live feedback, or in small groups of two or three.
The programme covers private lessons, a three-hour intensive block, a twenty-hour course to reach independence, lessons for children under 12, freeride coaching and equipment rental for independent riders. Lessons meet directly at the spot, and bookings go through WhatsApp with a deposit worth one hour of lessons.
The school also runs El Refugio Puclaro, a cabin in Gualliguaica open to bookings, with a private yard to store kite gear.
