Godfathers of the Ocean Surf School

Godfathers of the Ocean is a surf school in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast, open since April 2001. It was set up by Krista Barry, wife of former professional surfer Michael "Munga" Barry.

All lessons take place on Burleigh Heads Beach, in front of the surf club. Equipment is supplied (softboards, leg ropes, rash shirts; wetsuits at extra cost). The program includes small group lessons (maximum four students per coach), private lessons, family lessons, ladies-only lessons ("Goddesses of the Ocean"), kids' bodyboarding, school holiday programs, corporate days and "Ocean Therapy" classes.

The school has also set up a foundation that runs community projects locally.

Group lessons (as listed on the website for the September holidays): Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:30 am, Saturday at 7:30 am, Sunday at 8:00 am.
