Mandalika Kitesurfing Lombok & Surf School

Mandalika Kitesurfing is a kitesurf and surf school based in Kuta, in southern Lombok. Kite lessons take place on Kuta Mandalika beach, in a flat sandy lagoon that the school describes as free of hazardous reefs and strong currents, with a thermal wind of 15 to 25 knots.

The kitesurf course follows three two-hour levels: discovery (theory, kite set-up, kite flying on the beach), then body dragging and board starts, and finally independent riding (upwind, transitions, right-of-way rules). A three-hour introduction session is also offered. Students wear a helmet and impact vest, with rescue backup on site.

For surfing, the school offers lessons for kids, beginners and intermediates, in groups or private, with board, rash guard and a fresh coconut. It also runs boat trips to Gerupuk, sessions at Tanjung Aan and Seger, and a day trip to Kaliantan lagoon.

Kitesurf gear (kite, board, harness) can be rented in two-hour sessions at Kuta Mandalika beach by riders who can show their level.
