Biwako Marine Sports Club - Ouest (Omi-Shirahama)

Biwako Marine Sports Club groups several watersports schools on Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture: the Biwako Pro Windsurfing School, the Biwako Wing Foil School, plus kayak and stand-up paddle schools. This listing covers the west base, on the Omi-Shirahama beach in Takashima.

The shallow, wave-free beach is used for beginner windsurfing; the club also runs wing foil, paddle and kayak lessons. A campsite is right next to the beach.

The west base is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The club has a second base in Hikone (east base), suited to intermediate and advanced windsurfers, and a base on Yoron island, closed from December to February.
