Mendihuaca Surf Camp

Mendihuaca Surf Camp is a surf school with accommodation at the mouth of the Mendihuaca River, on Colombia's Caribbean coast between Santa Marta and Tayrona park. It was founded in 2016 by instructor Monica Reyes; in 2019, together with instructor Tobias Maag, the school was rebuilt right on the beach.

The two learning spots, with soft waves and an easy entry, are within 50 metres. More advanced surfers find tougher waves next door, among the six spots in the area; you can swap boards at no extra cost by walking back to the school. The river mouth is also used to practise movements away from the waves. Lessons are personalised, including for groups of friends, colleagues or families.

The camp offers dorms and private rooms between sea and jungle, with 2 m long beds and compost toilets, plus activities nearby (Tayrona, Lost City, rivers).
