School Presentation
Kiteboarding Oman is a VDWS-certified kitesurfing school opened in 2007 at Sawadi Beach by German Alexander Friesl, in cooperation with Oman World Tourism. It presents itself as the first certified kitesurfing school in the Middle East. The team trained the first two Omani kite instructors.
Since 2010 it has also been present in summer on Masirah Island (the Masirah camp is no longer run by the school, but lessons and rentals remain possible by appointment). Other locations such as Al Jazir, Bar al Hickman and Aseelah Beach are served on request; Muscat is also a spot described on the site.
It offers private and group lessons, equipment rental, hydrofoil and race kiting, kite repair, a rescue service and a shop. Teaching gear is from RRD and Flysurfer, the latter suited to light winds.
