Fuwairit Kite Beach (FKB) is a kitesurfing centre on Qatar's northern coast, about an hour's drive from Doha. The school is IKO certified and students receive an IKO-recognised certificate after their lessons. It was conceived by Sarah Lord, Qatar's kitesurfing pioneer.
The shallow lagoon and side-onshore wind of 15 to 30 knots suit riders of every level, whether on a twin tip, hydrofoil or wing foil. The instructor team includes an IKO Level 2 instructor and speaks English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French and Arabic.
The centre offers group, private and semi-private lessons, Duotone equipment, rental wetsuits, helmets, vests and harnesses, plus briefing rooms, changing facilities, lockers, kit storage and a rescue boat. The site is also a lifestyle resort with accommodation; on no-wind days guests can bike, snorkel, paddle, play padel, do yoga or try e-foil.
