Cuesta del Viento Kite School

Cuesta del Viento Kite School is a kitesurfing school on the Cuesta del Viento reservoir in Rodeo, in the north of San Juan province. It describes itself as the first school to open on this lake and claims more than ten years of teaching in strong, steady wind.

The spot is a dam ringed by mountains. The school welcomes beginners as well as intermediate and advanced riders: a kitesurf course from scratch, a one-day Kite Day to try the sport, a Kite Camp with lessons and accommodation, assistance sessions to polish your riding and an advanced class for manoeuvres. Full or kite-only equipment can be rented by the day.

Instructors are trained and certified by the Argentine kite association, which the school says it also uses to certify instructors from the area. When the wind drops, kayak and paddle, theory or rescheduling fill in. The school recommends the activity from age 10, with good physical fitness.

It also runs kite trips, for example to Cumbuco (Brazil) and Lo Stagnone (Sicily).
