Machete Kites
Fin de la route, dernière rue à gauche avant le demi-tour, Carr. Bejuco-Punta Chame, Punta Chame · Panamá Oeste · Panama
School Presentation
Machete Kites is a kitesurf, wing, foil and kitefoil school, shop and club at the far end of the Punta Chame peninsula, about an hour and a half from Panama City. It started in 1995 when Itzick Lalo and Ari Ezquenazi built a kite-powered buggy, and they took to the water in 1997; the school presents itself as one of the pioneers of kiting in Panama.
The spot has a wide beach and steady wind from December to April, with conditions the school describes as ideal for learning. It offers private lessons in kitesurfing, wing surfing, kitefoil and wingfoil with full equipment, radio-assisted lessons, boat-assisted lessons, a wingfoil introduction course and clinics for advanced riders. Instructors are IKO certified and teach in English, Spanish, German and French.
On site: gear rental, a shop (Slingshot, Ozone, Armstrong, Crazy Fly), a beach club with fresh water, compressor and free parking, cabins and a restaurant with an Italian-inspired menu. Open daily from 8 am to 8 pm.
