Marea Surf School Sayulita

Marea Surf School is a small surf school in Sayulita, on the Riviera Nayarit, started more than ten years ago with four boards and an umbrella on the beach. It describes itself as a local crew with no franchise or head office, and shows a 4.9 rating on Google and TripAdvisor.

The 90-minute lessons take place in Sayulita or at La Lancha beach in Punta de Mita, chosen according to the tide and the waves of the day, with a maximum of four surfers per instructor. The school also offers 1:1 coaching, packages of three or five lessons, trips to La Lancha in an open-top truck and a boat trip to the longer waves of Punta de Mita bay (intermediate and above, four surfers minimum).

It rents soft-tops, longboards, shortboards and paddle boards by the hour, day or week, with the option to swap boards at any time.
