Wind Rider Kiteboarding

Wind Rider is a kiteboarding and wing foiling school based at China Creek Marina near Port Alberni on Vancouver Island. Its founder has kiteboarded since 2007 and has been instructing since 2017.

The spot offers easy-access daily thermals, comparatively warm water and paved roads from Port Alberni. The China Creek campground is next door, with hot showers, food trucks and online campsite booking.

Lessons are private, one-on-one. The main pathway combines ground handling, foil skills in shallow water and two Jet-Ski assisted water sessions. Children's lessons are also offered, along with progression packages for later stages.

The school also runs downwinders for intermediate riders and adventures around the Pacific Rim. Equipment rental is available only with its upwind drop-off service, which includes launch assistance and beach pick-up.
