Kiwi Surf Experience

Kiwi Surf Experience is a family-owned surf school based at Hapuku on the Kaikoura coast, close to the Mangamaunu surf break on the east coast of the South Island. It offers surf and stand up paddle lessons, in groups, one-on-one or private.

Its instructors hold Level 1 (beginner) and Level 2 (advanced) coaching qualifications. The team includes Dave Lyons, a professional surfer and coach and Body Glove team rider.

Besides lessons, the school offers surf and stay packages, self-service board and paddle hire, and guided tours.
