Shaka Surf School is a family-run surf school founded by Fabien and Déborah, both instructors. Fabien, an instructor since 2003, holds the French state instructor diploma, is a professional coach, technical coach of the Guadeloupe youth surf squad and head judge; Déborah is a surf instructor and certified yoga teacher.
Lessons take place at Anse-Bertrand, Port-Louis, Sainte-Anne and Saint-François (Le Helleux), the exact spot being confirmed according to the weather. They suit beginners, intermediate and advanced surfers, in groups of up to six or in private lessons.
The school also rents boards (shortboards, mini-malibus and longboards), runs a surf camp in Anse-Bertrand and offers yoga sessions. Booking is advised in high season, from October to April.
