School Presentation
Squamish Watersports is the Howe Sound waterfront watersports centre in Squamish, on the Sea to Sky Highway. It combines a kiteboarding school (also known as Aerial Kiteboarding School), wing foil, wakeboard and paddle lessons, a gear store and a kite repair service.
All kiteboarding and wing foil lessons are boat-assisted: the instructor follows the student on the water in an inflatable boat, which maximises time spent riding. The kiteboarding intro course lasts four hours (a one-hour theory video to watch beforehand, then three hours on the water); private and semi-private lessons, advanced coaching, kite camps and upwind drops round out the offer. Wing foiling is taught in a three-hour intro lesson, as well as private and semi-private lessons, starting behind the boat or on a paddleboard.
The base has change rooms, lockers, hot showers, a private dock and a relaxing deck. Rental kites include Airush, Naish, Cabrinha, Core and Ozone, and the shop sells kites, bars, boards and wetsuits. The Squamish wind usually blows from April to late October, with the best months from May to September.
