Kite Alberta is a kiteboarding school and shop founded and run by Ryan Ehmann, a Calgary-born instructor with about fifteen years of kiting experience. It serves southern Alberta, from Calgary to the Rockies.
The school teaches kiteboarding in summer and snowkiting in winter, on frozen lakes and on the foothills' open terrain. Each beginner course lasts 3 hours and covers theory (wind window, power zones, safety systems), gear setup, kite flying and, as time allows, first rides on skis, a snowboard or a kiteboard.
Kite Alberta also sells kite gear and includes a free lesson with a complete kite package.
