Lamu Shela Kitesurf

Lamu Shela Kitesurf is a small kitesurf school on Shela Beach, Lamu Island, opened by Madli Amini. A former safari guide and kitesurf instructor, he has been kitesurfing in Watamu, Lamu and Shela since his teens.

The school offers a one-day taster course (kite control, safety, wind dynamics, body dragging), a three-day learn-to-ride course with all equipment included, and kitesurf gear rental by the hour or day for experienced riders. All levels are welcome and instructors are local.

The spot has steady trade winds, clear Indian Ocean water and white sand, beside the Swahili village of Shela, which has no cars.
