School Presentation
Namibia Kite Center is a kitesurf and windsurf school and rental centre on the Esplanade in Walvis Bay, opposite The Raft restaurant. It was founded in 2012 by Andreas and Nicole and taken over in 2020 by local twins Andre and Anton.
In front of the centre, the Walvis Bay lagoon is mostly waist-deep with an onshore wind. The beginner training area sits further upwind than the regular kite spots, so obstacles stay a long way downwind. Lessons run from first kite handling to going upwind, privately or for two students, with all equipment included and an instructor in the water until the student rides alone.
The centre rents kitesurf, kitefoil, wing foil, windsurf and SUP gear, sells equipment and offers monthly storage. It can also arrange accommodation and kite trips along the coast from Swakopmund to Lüderitz. Kites and boards come from Reedin, Core, F-One, Slingshot, Airush, Cabrinha and Crazy Fly; windsurf gear from Fanatic, North and NeilPryde; wing foil from Duotone.
