Jersey Surf School

Jersey Surf School is the surf and lifesaving school of St Ouen's Bay, on Jersey's west coast. It is run by Jake Powell, a former Channel Islands junior head surf coach and RNLI Beach Lifeguard Supervisor, and presents itself as the island's longest-running surf school, with more than twenty years of activity.

Lessons suit first-timers through to intermediate surfers: adult sessions, camps, junior clubs, school and corporate programmes, events and equipment hire. The school also teaches lifesaving and ocean education.

It works from two sites on the bay, Le Braye and The Watersplash, where the bigger waves suit progression. In 2026 it took over the former Splash Surf Centre, now the Surf Shak, its shop and headquarters, which sells the in-house Viacy label.
