School Presentation
Surfers Paradise Kegnæs is the Danish branch of Surfers Paradise, a German school that presents itself as the world's first VDWS kitesurf school and has taught since 1998. The mobile water sports centre is based at Kegnæs (Drejby), on the peninsula south of the island of Als at the mouth of Flensburg Fjord, with a Danish partner.
It offers kitesurf, wing foil, kitefoil, windsurf and paddle courses and personal training, in German and English. Kite and windsurf courses start on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and public holidays; kitefoil courses start daily by arrangement. The spot, a double spot on the causeway between Als and Kegnæs, has a large flat, stand-up-depth lagoon with no tide and no shore break, and waves on the Baltic side for more experienced riders; the site highlights one of Europe's best wind statistics.
The centre rents equipment (kite, windsurf, paddle, kitefoil, wing foil) without needing a course, has a shop and test centre, hosts school class trips and youth groups, and offers accommodation.
