School Presentation
Pete's Surf School gives surf lessons and hires out equipment at Westport beach on the west coast of Kintyre, near Machrihanish and Campbeltown in Scotland. The school has been running since 2014. Pete, an ISA Level 1 surf instructor with fourteen years' coaching experience and a SurfLifeSavingGB surf lifeguard, runs the sessions.
Lessons are for groups (maximum eight), pairs or one-to-one, with all equipment provided; they last at least two hours (apart from the one-hour private lesson) and are scheduled for 10am, sometimes moved to 2pm to suit tides and conditions. Participants must be able to swim 50m; under-16s must be accompanied by an adult. Hire wetsuits are 5mm winter-weight, with gloves, hoods and boots available.

Open Thursday to Sunday, 9am to 6pm. Hire pickup and drop-off at 9.30am, 1.30pm and 5.30pm.
Pricing
Surf lessons (prices seen in 2026): group place, adult £45, under 16 £40; private lesson for two £60 each; one-hour private lesson £80, two-hour £100.
