School Presentation
Ullswater Paddleboarding, set up in 2015 by Adrian Bacon, teaches stand up paddleboarding, wingsurfing and wing foiling on the shores of Ullswater in the Lake District, from Another Place hotel. Adrian is a BSUPA and ASI instructor who was once one of Britain's top windsurfers and spent years as a windsurf magazine's equipment tester. The school describes itself as the only fully accredited ASI SUP school in the Lake District.
The introductory wingsurfing lesson (2 hours, ages 13+, RYA approved) teaches wing handling on a SUP or windsurf board, on land then on the water. The wing foiling lesson (2 hours) is for people with previous wingsurfing experience moving on to the foil. The introductory paddleboard lesson lasts 1 hour 30. Wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet are provided.
The school also hires paddleboards, kayaks and canoes, and offers two-person kayak tours, archery and rafted canoeing.
