Freewave Surf Academy

Freewave Surf Academy is a surf school based at Widemouth Bay, near Bude, on Cornwall's north coast. It claims more than twenty years of experience and caters for small groups, families and individuals.

The school runs surf lessons at Widemouth Bay and at Summerleaze Beach in Bude, private lessons and bodyboarding. It also offers stand up paddleboarding (lessons, hire and the Bude SUP club), coasteering trips and surf and paddleboard hire at both beaches, as well as gift vouchers.

Lessons start with a warm-up and, as several reviews quoted on the site put it, get beginners standing on the board in their first session. The school can be reached by phone or through the website form; replies may take longer in peak season.
