School Presentation
Båstad Kite is an IKO kitesurf school founded in 2020 on Sweden's west coast. It was started by an IKO-trained instructor who also teaches in winter in Cape Town, South Africa. In summer the team sets up on Mellbystrand beach, below Kolonvägen.
Lessons are in small groups with most of the time spent in the water. All equipment is included (wetsuit, boots, gloves, harness, kite, bar) and the session is rebooked if the wind fails: you have a year to finish the course. The day's spot depends on wind direction: Lagan river mouth, Skummeslöv, Malen beach, Mellbystrand, sometimes Halmstad or Falkenberg. Equipment rental (Core, North, Ozone) requires an IKO certificate or equivalent.
Båstad Kite also offers SUP safaris and SUP yoga, and sells kites. Courses qualify for the wellness allowance (friskvårdsbidrag).
