Lappis

Lappis is a school, a rental service and Finland's big online shop for wind-powered watersports at once. Based in Oulu on the Gulf of Bothnia coast, the company offers kitesurfing, wingfoil and snowkite (leijahiihto) courses, as well as SUP and kayak rental from its paddling centre on the island of Linnansaari.

Kitesurf courses run in summer in Oulu and Helsinki all summer long, and in Pori and Hanko on demand. They are built from three-hour modules: an introduction module (virtual theory plus a practical session), follow-up modules, then advanced modules (jumps, strapless, foil). Equipment is included. For wingfoil, a three-hour basic course is offered in the Helsinki region, with the theory online. In winter, snowkite courses are held on snow and ice.

The shop sells kites and wings, boards, foils, harnesses, wetsuits and clothing, as well as second-hand gear and spare parts; the team also repairs equipment. A warehouse is open on weekdays in Kempele, near Oulu. Lappis also organises Pallas Kiteweek, a snowkite week in Lapland.
