Surf Northumberland

Surf Northumberland is a surf school in Northumberland, north-east England, founded by Sally Cook and taken over in 2025 by a team with a background in water and mountain sports, who also run the outdoor activity company Fearless Adventure.

Lessons take place at Newton Steads, at the south end of Beadnall Bay, with another beach used when conditions are better elsewhere. They run all year and last two hours from safety talk to the end: wetsuit and board fitting, warm up, land-based practice, water time, cool down and feedback. Soft foam boards and wetsuits are provided, with boots and gloves when needed.

The school offers group lessons, private lessons, sessions for schools and youth groups, birthday parties and the Mind and Wave retreat (breath work and yoga in the morning, surf in the afternoon).
