Surf & Fun runs two water sports stations on the Scharmützelsee, at Wendisch Rietz and Bad Saarow. The 12 km-long lake in Brandenburg offers varied conditions. Run by Maik Hoffmeister, the company is a VDWS centre teaching windsurfing and dinghy sailing.
VDWS-trained instructors teach windsurfing on very stable boards with light sails: a 90-minute taster, a 10 to 12-hour basic course leading to the VDWS licence, private lessons and group packages. Wetsuit and life jacket are included. Courses are open from age 6.
The station also rents windsurf gear, SUPs, pedal boats, rowing boats, canoes, motor boats and sailing boats, and has a beach café.
