Surfcenter Altmühlsee

Surfcenter Altmühlsee is the water sports centre on the Altmühlsee, the second-largest lake in the Franconian Lake District. It sits on the eastern shore right by the water, at Schlungenhof (Gunzenhausen), and has taught kitesurfing, wingfoiling, windsurfing, foiling and stand up paddling since 1998.

The centre offers beginner courses in kite, windsurf, wingfoil and SUP, equipment rental for each discipline, guided SUP tours, and advice and sales in its shop. It also repairs kites and wings. The site hosts events too, including the Altmühlsee Wingdays.

The centre also rents bikes, rickshaws and kayaks, and has a kiosk with beer garden and a terrace café overlooking the lake.
