NorthWest Kiteboarding

NorthWest Kiteboarding is a kitesurf school in Makkum on the Frisian IJsselmeer coast. Run by Marcus and Maria, it states that it is approved by VDWS and by the Royal Dutch Watersport Association, with more than twenty years of experience.

Its home spots are Makkum and Kornwerderzand on the IJsselmeer (flat, shallow water) and, occasionally, the North Sea coast when there is swell. Both suit beginners and experienced riders. Groups stay small, with personal attention.

The school teaches kitesurfing, kite foiling and wing foiling (beginner course, follow-up course, wave clinic, group introduction, instructor training), and offers equipment rental and guided kiting, a shop, service and board and carbon repair, as well as stand up paddle lessons and tours and travel.
