School Presentation
Nags Head Surf Camp is a week-long youth surf camp held each summer in Nags Head, on North Carolina's Outer Banks. Now in its 14th year, it aims to ignite a passion for surfing in campers through four days of serious fun in the ocean.
The team is built around instructors who grew up through the camp themselves, including Will Deane, a former camper turned pro (WSL Pro Junior champion). The ratio is at most four campers per instructor in the water, and the camp says it is licensed and insured. Campers must be at least 8 and swim proficiently.
Equipment is provided: a 6 to 8 foot soft-top surfboard with leash, a large shaded tent, a camp T-shirt and a swag bag. The exact camp location changes with the sandbars, and a flex day is reserved in case of poor conditions (with alternative activities at Jockey's Ridge).
