Ventura Surf School presents itself as Ventura County's oldest surf school, founded in 1996 by professional surfer Evan Caples. It is based at Mondos Beach in Ventura, home break of X Games champion Curren Caples.
The school offers private lessons (90 minutes, board and wetsuit included), group lessons and kids' summer camps: five days at Mondos Beach, 9 am to 2 pm, with a stated ratio of four students per instructor. Lunch must be brought.
