School Presentation

The Northwestern University Sailing Center (NUSC) is a lakefront sailing base on Lake Michigan in Evanston, north of Chicago. Open to the public as well as the university community, it teaches sailing (Laser and other boats), windsurfing and paddleboarding, and rents equipment (kayaks, paddleboards, catamarans).

The Adult Learn to Windsurf program covers the basics: technique, terminology, right-of-way rules and safety. Every participant gets a complimentary one-month membership to keep practicing. Private windsurfing lessons are offered at all levels, on boards and sails suited to the student. Membership gives seasonal access to sailing and windsurfing equipment after a proficiency test on a Laser or windsurf board.

The center also runs kids' camps and SUP yoga. The 2026 season runs from May 2 to October 11.
