Utah Snowkite Center

Utah Snowkite Center is a snowkiting and kiteboarding school based in Salt Lake City. It is run by Jacob Buzianis, who has snowkited and kiteboarded since 2001 and says he has taught more than 6,000 people.

Lessons and guided days take place in the areas around Salt Lake City and Park City, depending on snow and wind. Harnesses, kites and bars are provided for most lessons; students bring their own skis or snowboard and a helmet, which is required. The Kite on Snow course comes in two levels: the first covers four-line kite control and snow safety, the second takes place on skis or snowboard (riding up and down the mountain, upwind technique, terrain). Clinics for kiteboarders moving to snow, an intro to winging on snow, private lessons and backcountry snowkiting days for small groups are also offered.

The school also teaches kiteboarding and winging on the water (level 1 and 2 courses, private lessons) and organizes kite trips to several US states. Gear rental is available.

Lessons by appointment, depending on wind and snow; sessions usually start at 9 am.
