School Presentation
Community Sailing of Colorado is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that teaches sailing and wind sports on Colorado's Front Range lakes. Its Windsurfing | Wing Foiling program offers lessons for complete beginners as well as more advanced riders.
Intro to windsurfing runs as two 3-hour sessions in a small group of three students per instructor, covering rigging, balance, turning, steering and self-rescue. Intro to wing foiling follows the same format: a first session on stable finned boards (no foil) to build balance and wing handling, then a second on foil boards to work on lift-off. These classes are held at Soda Lake on Tuesdays from 4:30 to 7:30 pm.
Private windsurfing lessons (intermediate level: harness, beach starts, water starts, footstraps) and private wing foil lessons can be hosted at Boulder Reservoir or Soda Lake. The organization also runs a summer camp combining windsurfing, wing foiling and sailing for ages 10 to 17, with bases at Boulder Reservoir (5565 51st St) and Cherry Creek Reservoir (4800 S Dayton St, Greenwood Village). Life jackets are provided, and some donated wetsuits are available depending on sizes.
