School Presentation
AdrenaJen is the snowkite school of Jennie Milton, based in Bozeman, Montana. Jennie, nicknamed "Adrenajen", has more than twenty years of competing and coaching behind her. She is a certified IKA and KA instructor, has already run snowkite schools in Alaska and Australia, and was Australian women's kitesurfing champion.
Lessons are private or in small groups, at three levels: a first lesson on snow (trainer kite, wind window, the basics of getting up and gliding), a backcountry transition for kiteboarders new to snow, and advanced snowkiting (power management, climbs, traverses and descents on steeper terrain). Women's camps are also offered.
The season runs from December 15 to February 25 in Montana and Idaho (the meadows around Bozeman and Big Sky, the Island Park plateaus), then from March 1 to April 25 in Alaska at Thompson Pass near Valdez. Daily locations are chosen for wind, snowpack and access. A quiver of Ozone snowkites and a backcountry harness are available during lessons; students bring their own skis or snowboard.
In summer, Jennie also teaches kitesurfing on Oregon's south coast, from Newport to Gold Beach, from June 1 to October 1. The online shop on the website sells snowkites, control bars, harnesses and trainer kites.
